Senator Mohammed Sani Musa has mourned the death of his longtime friend, Mohammed Bala, saying death cannot erase the memories and bond they shared over 43 years.
Musa, in a statement on Wednesday, described Bala’s death as a painful and irreparable loss, saying he was struggling to come to terms with the passing of a friend he had known since 1983.
Bala reportedly died shortly after midnight on Monday at the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, Abuja.
“Forty-three years. Four decades of friendship, brotherhood, memories, laughter, conversations, difficult moments and beautiful moments that I will carry with me for the rest of my life,” Musa said.
“Today, I am finding it difficult to accept that he is gone.”
The senator described the deceased as a fine gentleman who was kind, patient, humble, gentle and deeply persevering.
“I will miss him. I already miss him. I will miss his presence, his voice, his kindness and simply knowing that my friend was there,” he said.
Musa, however, said the death of his friend could not take away the memories and love built over more than four decades.
“Death has taken him from us, but it cannot take away the memories, the brotherhood and the love that we shared for 43 years,” he stated.
He prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased, asking God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdausi.
Musa also prayed for strength, patience and comfort for Bala’s family and all those affected by the loss.
“You have gone ahead of us, my dear friend and brother, but you will never be forgotten. Until we meet again, if Allah wills,” he added.
