The Benue State Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) Tuesday stated that the company is targeting a $5 billion investment platform for Benue to create jobs, drive innovation, build wealth and boost global competitiveness.
The company stated this in a statement ahead of the Benue 2035 Economic Transformation, Capital Formation & Prosperity Summit scheduled for 7 to 9 September, 2026 in Makurdi.
The summit, themed “BENUE 2035 – From Potential to Prosperity: Building a $5 Billion Investment Platform for Jobs Creation, Prosperity and Global Competitiveness,” will bring together investors, financial institutions, development partners, entrepreneurs and private-sector executives.
BIPC said the initiative would focus on converting the state’s agricultural, human capital, entrepreneurial and economic assets into productive enterprises, sustainable employment and increased revenue.
It said priority areas would include agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing, energy, technology, digital economy, startups, human capital development, trade and exports.
The company added that particular emphasis would be placed on attracting domestic and international capital into bankable projects while retaining more value within the state through industrialisation and value-chain development.
The BIPC said the three-day summit will go beyond speeches to produce a prioritised investment portfolio, capital formation roadmap, human capital and digital innovation strategy and a 100-day action plan.
