2027 campaign: Sanwo-Olu, Obanikoro urge APC members to pray, remain united

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been urged to go into the election campaign as united members of the party and pray for the success of the candidates in  the forthcoming elections.

This  stated expressed Wednesday by the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Senator  Musiliu Obanikoro, who is the director general of President  Bola Tinubu  and Obafemi  Hamzat campaign organisation  at an inter faith prayer held at Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan,  Lagos.

Obanikoro said the election should be approached as an indivisible party, and room should not be given for internal wrangling. He noted that the primaries might have created some bad blood, but urged those affected to put any ill feelings they have about the primaries behind them.

“Let us disagree without becoming enemy, let us pray and work for the party, let us be united and look up to Almighty God  for victory for our great party. At the national and state level, we have the best candidates and we are blessed with people with proven integrity.”

Obanikoro who tagged his speech: “Let God go before us,” said the essence of the gathering was to place the campaign before God.

Sanwo-Olu said members of the party decided to commit everything about the campaign and the election into prayers because there is nothing stronger than prayer.

He urged all those present at the inter faith prayer to believe that all prayers have been answered.

“We have assurances that all the prayers we said today have been answered. We followed the dictate of religion by starting our campaign with prayers. We don’t take anything for granted, what we have done is to follow God’s directive,” he said.
