“Today” host Craig Melvin accidentally spilled co-host Jenna Bush Hager’s secret on-air!

During the April 8, 2026, broadcast, Melvin let it slip that Bush Hager will make a surprise appearance in the upcoming film “The Devil Wears Prada 2.”

Jenna Bush Hager’s Jaw Dropped When Craig Melvin Revealed Her News

The co-hosts were discussing the upcoming Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway film, when Melvin let the cat out of the bag.

“By the way, you know how that movie’s going to be good?” Melvin began, according to People. “You know how I can tell? JBH is in it!”

Bush Hager is visibly shocked by her friend’s blunder.

“I don’t know that you were supposed to drop that bomb, but if you’re…” Bush Hager responded.

Savannah Guthrie jumped in, “This is live. You cannot tell Craig anything!”

“I thought it was common knowledge?” Melvin questioned.

Weatherman Al Roker joked, “It is now!”

While it was absolutely a slip of the tongue, the group took it in stride.

“Cut it out for the other feeds! Sorry about that JBH,” Melvin said. “My bad!”

Guthrie joked to Bush Hager, “Why don’t you read your journal while you’re at it?”

Little is known of the former First Daughter’s appearance in the highly-anticipated sequel. However, she and Guthrie may have been dropping hints about her cameo months ago with their joint Halloween costumes.

Guthrie donned a grey wig to portray Streep’s Miranda Priestly character, while Bush Hager rocked a short bob, dressing as former Vogue editor-in-chief Ana Wintour.

The film is also set to star Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt. Adrien Grenier, the love interest of Hathaway’s character in the first film, will not be returning for the sequel.

Fans can catch Bush Hager’s cameo when “The Devil Wears Prada 2” hits theaters on May 1.

‘Today’ Hosts Welcomed Savannah Guthrie Back

Wednesday’s episode marked the third since Guthrie returned from an extended leave after the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.

“We are so glad you started your week with us, and it is good to be home,” Guthrie said to begin the Monday, April 6, show. “It is good to be home. Here we go, ready or not — let’s do the news.”

During her show, “Today With Jenna & Sheinelle,” Bush Hager said, “We’ve had a really lovely morning here. Savannah is back, and we have just embraced her with open arms. She said, ‘It is good to be home,’ and we feel that sentiment a million times over.”
