The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, Thursday stated that the establishment of state police in Nigeria will reduce crimes.
Oba Ladoja said this after receiving members of trustees of the Ibadan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture at Olubadan palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan during a courtesy visit.
The Olubadan in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga, stated that where criminal acts thrive, no meaningful development can be achieved.
“Where criminal acts thrive, no meaningful development can be achieved especially this period when our country is faced with several security challenges.
“It is when there is security of life and property that commerce, industry, mines and agriculture can flourish.”
The 23rd president of Ibadan Chamber of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture, Chief Emmanuel Folorunsho Ogunnaike, said the board was at the palace to pay homage, seek mentorship and development of economy and trade especially in agriculture, engineering and commerce among others.
Chief Ogunnaike charged the governments in the country to revitalise moribund industries and give necessary support to reduce the challenges facing commerce, industry, mines and agriculture in Oyo state.
