Vinicius leads Real Madrid past Man City to Champions League Quarters

Real Madrid are through to the Champions League quarterfinals after beating Manchester City 2–1 on Tuesday night, making it 5–1 on aggregate.

Vinicius Junior put Madrid ahead with a penalty in the 22nd minute and showed his class throughout the match, even laughing off a banner from the stands aimed at him.

City pulled one back when Erling Haaland scored in the 41st minute, but their hopes were hit hard when Bernardo Silva was sent off, leaving them a man down for most of the game.

Madrid controlled the rest of the match and added a late goal to seal the win. Fans at the Bernabéu celebrated wildly as the team confirmed their spot in the next round.

Manchester City will now turn their focus to other competitions after a tough European exit.
