The Advert Hoc Committee of the Home of Representatives investigating the advantages accruing to the federal authorities from concessioning of ports and terminals has warned companies towards snubbing attitudes in an try and frustrate its actions.
The Committee expressed displeasure over the refusal of some authorities companies to honour invites from the committee, to supply obligatory paperwork wanted for the committee’s project.
The chairman of the panel, Kolawole Akinlayo, at a information convention on Friday, stated the Committee was not blissful that companies and corporations invited are irritating the efforts of the committee by both refusing to seem or offering incomplete paperwork.
He stated the committee could also be pressured to invoke the related sections of the Nigerian structure to compel the companies from showing earlier than the committee.
“Within the mild of the foregoing, we want to give the final warning to the chief govt officers and heads of the next companies to alter their perspective in direction of the committee or have themselves accountable.
“They embrace the Nigerian Ports Authority, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Security Company (NIMASA), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Fee (NUPRC), NLNG, INTELS and Julius Berger Plc,” he stated.
