
The administration of the Nigerian Railway Company (NRC) has condemned and ordered investigations into an alleged assault of a Lecturer on the College of Ibadan (UI) Dr. Mikail Abdussalam on the Obafemi Awolowo Prepare Station, Moniya, Ibadan.
NRC Managing Director, Dr. Kayode Opeifa mentioned that the company views the incident with critical concern and affirmed that harassment, intimidation, or any type of misconduct in direction of passengers or members of the general public is unacceptable and never consistent with the values and operational requirements of the NRC.
He said that his administration has ordered an instantaneous investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and guarantee personnel discovered to have acted opposite to the company’s skilled and public service code of conduct shall be subjected to applicable disciplinary measures in accordance with established laws and the legal guidelines of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
