MAJOR SHAKE-UP: IGP Disu Redeploys Jimoh Moshood, Other Senior Police Officers to Boost Efficiency
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved a sweeping redeployment of senior officers across the Nigeria Police Force in a move aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, enhancing leadership capacity, and improving service delivery nationwide.
The directive, announced on Tuesday, forms part of ongoing reforms to reinforce the Force’s command structure and ensure the strategic deployment of personnel across commands, formations, and departments.
According to the posting order, several Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) have been assigned to key departments at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. AIG Ado Emmanuel will head Research and Planning, while AIG Joseph Eribo takes charge of the Department of Armament. AIG Miller G. Dantawaye has been posted to Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche to Training and Development. AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo will oversee the Police Affairs Branch, while AIG Dahiru Mohammed has been deployed to Zone 15 in Maiduguri.
Other AIG postings include Dankombo F. Morris to Zone 4, Makurdi; Bello Shehu to Zone 14, Katsina; Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba to Legal Services; Ahmed Musa to Community Policing; Olohundare Moshood Jimoh to Zone 2, Lagos; Simeon U. Akpanudom to the FCID Annex, Lagos; and Haruna Olufemi to the Special Protection Unit.
At the level of Commissioners of Police (CPs), Haruna Alaba Yahaya has been assigned to Jigawa State Command, while Betty Enekpen Otimenyin moves to Welfare at the Force Headquarters. Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola takes over Oyo State Command, and Olubode Ojajuni has been posted to Ogun State. Michael Adegoroye Falade will head Ekiti State Command, while Yakubu Useni Dankaro takes charge of Adamawa State Command.
Further deployments include Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed to the Federal Capital Territory Command, Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai to Lagos State Command, Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba, Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara, Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina, and Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto State Command.
In specialised assignments, Akan Ezima has been named Director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC), while Abbas Sule heads the Special Protection Unit. Ajo Geoffrey Ordue has been posted to INTERPOL, and Mnwadiogbu Cletus appointed Deputy Commandant of the Police Academy.
Other postings cover key investigative, administrative, and operational units, including the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Special Fraud Unit, K9 Section, Safer Highway Unit, and Community Safety and Crime Prevention, among others.
The redeployment also includes appointments to strategic institutions and units such as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Eastern Ports Authority, Police College Ikeja, and the Force Headquarters’ administrative divisions.
The IGP charged the affected officers to leverage their experience in their new roles and uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and service in the discharge of their duties.
