The Lagos State Authorities says that the the month-to-month environmental sanitation train will resume from April 25, ending a nine-year suspension of the programme.
Tokunbo Wahab, the state commissioner for setting made the announcment on Saturday shortly after Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Obafemi Hamzat carried out symbolic road cleansing to mark the return of the initiative.
The statewide sanitation train was suspended in November 2016 following a ruling by the Court docket of Attraction which held that limiting residents’ motion in the course of the sanitation hours violated residents’ rights to private liberty and freedom of motion.
Earlier than its suspension, the train was noticed on the final Saturday of each month between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
