
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed into legislation, the African Union Conference for the Safety and Help of Internally Displaced Individuals (IDPs), also called the Kampala Conference.
It goals to strengthen humanitarian safety and uphold the rights and dignity of displaced residents.
Titled: “Act to Give Impact to the Provisions of the African Union Conference for the Safety and Help of Internally Displaced Individuals in Nigeria; and for Associated Issues,” the invoice which just lately acquired presidential assent was sponsored by deputy speaker Benjamin Kalu and 6 others.
The piece of laws beforehand handed by each chambers of the Nationwide Meeting, the Senate and the Home of Representatives, finally seeks to cultivate and implement in Nigeria the African Union Conference for the Safety and Help to Internally Displaced Individuals.
