Amanda Peet Says Her Kids Have ‘Been Great’ After Cancer Reveal
Actress Amanda Peet has revealed how her children have dealt with the news of her breast cancer diagnosis.
In an exclusive interview with E! News, the star of movies like 2000’s crime comedy “The Whole Nine Yards” and television shows like The WB’s comedy-drama “Jack & Jill” says she is grateful to have her three kids by her side as she battles the horrible disease.
Peet, 54, has two daughters and a son — Frances (known as Frankie), 19, Molly, 15, and Henry, 11 — all of whom she shares with her husband of 20 years, the novelist, screenwriter, and producer David Benioff, 55.
She told E! News that, while she took her time to pick the right moment to tell the young trio about her diagnosis, they had responded positively and maturely to learning about it.
Amanda Peet Says There Was ‘No Perfect Time’ to Tell Her Children About Her Diagnosis
A brave Amanda Peet admitted to E! News’ Will Marfuggi that there was “no perfect time” to tell her children about her breast cancer diagnosis. However, she says they’ve “been great” since she decided to do so.
Peet said, “they’ve been great and I think think what changes when your kids become adults is that you probably share earlier when there’s more uncertainty and so I definitely had to get myself together before including them.”
She continued, “but that was sort of the hard part, was deciding, first of all, realizing that nothing is certain and, you know, there was going to be no perfect time to tell them.”
Per People, Peet’s three children were born in February 2007 (Frankie), April 2010 (Molly), and December 2014 (Henry).
Frankie is a college student who, according to her TikTok account, attends Cornell University. Molly and Henry currently stay predominantly out of the spotlight, given their tender ages.
