Ebonyi State Police Command has rescued a six-year-old kidnapped youngster and arrested two suspects.
In an announcement signed by the Police Public Relations Officier within the state, Ukandu Joshua on Thursday, the police disclosed that on sixth January 2026, one Mrs. Obasi Daberechi reported that her six-year-old daughter was kidnapped from her store at Onuebonyi axis of Abakaliki the state capital.
Based on Ukandu, the suspects, who posed as clients, subsequently demanded a ransom of fifty million naira (₦50,000,000) for the kid’s launch.
He disclosed that performing swiftly on the report, operatives of the Command hooked up to the Speedy Response Squad, by means of painstaking and diligent investigation, traced the abductors to their hideout at Agogboriga Format, Abakaliki and rescued her unharmed.
“Two male suspects, specifically Okafor Ofubuike (23 years) and Chisom Daniel (23 years), have been arrested in reference to the kidnapping. They’re at present below investigation and can be charged to court docket upon the conclusion of investigations,” Ukandu assured.
