In recognition of their distinctive dedication to pupil welfare, inclusive management and unwaivering help for initiatives that promote educational excellence and a conducive studying and profession setting for college kids and staff of the Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State, the Nationwide Affiliation of Nigerian College students, South-West Zone D, on Saturday honoured the establishment’s prime managers.
Whereas the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ede, Dr. Sani Man Yahaya was honoured with ‘Noble Pal of College students Award’, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Taiwo Akanbi Olaiya was adorned because the Grand Father of NANS within the South-West Zone D.
The ceremony which was held on the Akogun Corridor of the Polytechnic was attended by the management and different government officers of the Nationwide Affiliation of Nigerian College students, South-West Zone D, comprising Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Oyo.
Talking on why the Rector was honoured, Coordinator of NANS South West Zone D, Owolewa Taiwo, mentioned the most important purpose was the reinstatement of some rusticated college students of the Polytechnic.
Taiwo described Olaiya and Akanbi as fathers of the scholar affiliation, saying there mentorship, steering and achievements within the citadel of studying have been unmatched within the area.
The Rector expressed happiness over the award and recognition, saying the interventions that led to the reinstatement of the expelled college students have been instructive, particularly that of the Governing Council Chairman whose admonitions impacted him positively.
He urged college students to all the time prioritize their educational pursuits and interact in lawful actions.
In his remarks, the Governing Council Chairman, Olaiya, mentioned it was very gratifying to be recognised by the youths as somebody who has contributed meaningfully to their lives. “We can’t proceed to say youths are the leaders of tomorrow when all we do is depend extra on their errors than on how you can appropriate these errors,” he remarked.
