Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, says that the assault on officers of the Nationwide Park Service in Oloka village, Oriire native authorities space, was carried out by cross-border bandits.
The governor, in a message shared on X on Tuesday, condemned the incident, describing it as each a felony act and a tragic loss.
He wrote that “earlier at present, there was a felony assault by bandits on the Nationwide Park Workplace, Oloka Village which resulted within the dying of 5 Nationwide Park Service Forest Guard Officers.”
Makinde added that the scenario represented “a devastating lack of the lives of personnel in the midst of finishing up their lawful duties.”
He disclosed that preliminary intelligence gathered by safety operatives recommended that the attackers infiltrated Oyo state from neighbouring territories to launch the lethal operation.
The governor defined that safety companies had been collaborating and taking coordinated steps to answer the event and guarantee public security.
He appealed to residents to assist safety personnel by staying calm and cooperating with ongoing operations.
Makinde urged residents in Oriire native authorities space and different border communities to not panic, assuring them of enhanced safety.
He acknowledged that “the safety companies have restored normalcy and deployed extra personnel to the world.”
The governor harassed that his administration “will depart no stone unturned to reply decisively to forestall a recurrence of such assaults.”
