The stays of the late Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, might be interred on January 30, 2026.
Governor Douye Diri disclosed this on Wednesday through the 179th state government council assembly in Authorities Home, Yenagoa.
This was contained in an announcement on Wednesday by Daniel Alabrah, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
Ewhrudjakpo died on December 11, 2025 on the age of 60.
Governor Diri mentioned following the organising of a committee headed by the Secretary to the State Authorities, Nimibofa Ayawei, Ewhrudjakpo’s four-day funeral programme would start on January 27 with sporting actions.
He said {that a} Day of Tributes would maintain on January 28 on the DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Corridor in Yenagoa whereas on January 29, a two-part particular valedictory classes would happen on the State Excessive Courtroom Complicated, Yenagoa, and the Govt Council Chambers in Authorities Home.
On January 30, a requiem mass in his honour might be held on the St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Ofoni neighborhood in Sagbama Native Authorities Space, earlier than his interment.
He mentioned, “At this time, 14th of January, we wish to use this chance to announce the funeral dates of our departed deputy governor.
