The Federal Authorities has no plan to toll the rehabilitated Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has mentioned.
Umahi spoke on Sunday whereas answering journalists’ questions after inaugurating the N40 billion Closed Circuit Tv Digital camera Centre on the Third Mainland Bridge.
“We is not going to have interaction in development on this bridge as a result of it’s going to entail static load on the bridge.
“Additionally it is throughout the city, so it’s going to introduce many bottlenecks; that’s the reason we’re not tolling this bridge,” he mentioned.
Umahi mentioned safety on the bridge could be dealt with by the police, noting that the 11-kilometre bridge would have a five-minute response time.
“We’re permitting the police to do the needful,” the minister mentioned.
He added {that a} tow van and an ambulance had been required on the bridge for emergencies.
“We would like life to be very clean and candy for Nigerians; that’s what President Bola Tinubu stands for.
“That’s the reason God introduced him despite all of the challenges,” he mentioned.
