President Bola Tinubu has authorised the appointment of Nigerian Legislation Faculty’s first feminine Director-Common, Olugbemisola Titilayo Odusote.
Based on a press release by Tinubu’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the appointment takes impact from January 10, 2026, and is for a four-year time period.
Odusote, 54, is the present Deputy Director-Common and head of the Lagos campus of the Nigerian Legislation Faculty.
She is going to succeed Isa Hayatu Chiroma, the outgoing Director-Common, whose eight-year tenure expires on January 9, 2026.
Odusote will grow to be the primary girl to steer the establishment since its institution in 1962.
She obtained her LL.B diploma from Obafemi Awolowo College and was known as to the Nigerian Bar in 1998 AND holds an LL.M diploma from the identical establishment, specialising in firm and business legislation.
Odusote later earned a PhD in legislation from the College of Surrey in the UK, with analysis pursuits in public legislation and the administration of justice.
She joined the Nigerian Legislation Faculty in 2001 as a lecturer. Since then, she has served as head of the educational division, director of teachers and head of campus. She was additionally a visiting scholar at Nottingham Trent College in the UK.
Odusote has printed extensively in native and worldwide legislation journals and offered papers at a number of authorized training conferences.
She has served on committees of the Council of Authorized Schooling and the Nigerian Bar Affiliation.
As Director-Common, Odusote will oversee the establishment’s educational management, administrative administration and strategic path throughout all campuses.
She may also function the liaison between the legislation faculty, the Council of Authorized Schooling, the Physique of Benchers and the Nigerian Bar Affiliation.
