The Senate has confirmed the nominations of three non-career ambassadors, marking the primary set of ambassadorial nominees submitted by President Bola Tinubu and screened by the higher chamber.
These confirmed are Lateef Kayode Kolawole Are from Ogun State, Aminu Muhammad Dalhatu from Jigawa State, and Emmanuel Ayodele Oke, CFR, from Oyo State.
The confirmations adopted the consideration and adoption of the report of the Senate Committee on International Affairs, which performed the screening train final week.
In the meantime, 64 different ambassadorial nominees who have been forwarded to the Senate and screened are but to be confirmed.
Politics Nigeria had earlier reported that President Tinubu transmitted the names of the three non-career ambassadorial nominees to the Senate on November 26, making it the primary record of ambassadorial appointments despatched to the Nationwide Meeting since he assumed workplace on Might 29, 2023.
The President subsequently nominated 32 extra people for ambassadorial positions which incorporates notable figures.
