Nigeria’s former Minister of International Affairs and distinguished diplomat, Professor Pleasure Uche Angela Ogwu, has died on the age of 79.
Household sources confirmed that Professor Ogwu handed away early Monday at a hospital in New York, United States, together with her daughter by her aspect. She was reported to have succumbed to a cancer-related sickness.
Professor Ogwu was extensively revered for her service as Nigeria’s Everlasting Consultant to the United Nations and for her management as Director-Common of the Nigerian Institute of Worldwide Affairs (NIIA).
Reacting to the information, Ambassador Usman Sarki, former Nigerian Deputy Everlasting Consultant to the United Nations who served below her in New York, expressed deep sorrow.
“Immediately, we obtained the unhappy information of the passing of former Everlasting Consultant, Professor Pleasure Ogwu,” he mentioned.
“It is extremely unhappy. She was a fantastic girl who represented Nigeria to the perfect of her potential below very troublesome circumstances,” Sarki added, describing her as “a really respectable human being.”
“It is extremely unhappy and really unlucky,” he concluded.
