The brand new Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan, has arrived on the Presidential Villa in Abuja for his official swearing-in by President Bola Tinubu.
Amupitan arrived on the State Home on Thursday morning, wearing a white agbada and gold cap, exchanging pleasantries with dignitaries forward of the ceremony, which is able to formally mark his assumption of workplace as Nigeria’s electoral chief.
He was accompanied by some presidential aides, with the swearing-in scheduled to carry at 1:00 p.m.
In the meantime, Vice President Kashim Shettima is presiding over a gathering of the Nationwide {Economic} Council (NEC) on the Council Chamber of the Villa, attended by governors and deputy governors from throughout the 36 states.
